It Gets Better

It’s been 2 1/2 weeks since my surgery. It’s surprisingly doing really well. This time it’s a whole lot easier. No pain. Had my follow up today and my surgeon said I’m doing well in recovery. So physically I’m doing great and that makes me happy. Can’t work out my upper body or heavy workouts for 6 weeks. That part is the downer. My surgeon said something interesting to me today. For 6 weeks I’m not supposed to be submerged in water. And in October, 7 weeks after my surgery I’ll be in Hawaii. So I asked if it’s okay to go in the ocean. Recently she had a client who went in the ocean after 3 months, got an infection and had to do an emergency surgery. But that client has radiation, I didn’t. So that might played a part. Overall I know that since I’m young, I’ll have more surgery in the future. I think mentally, it’ll take me longer to heal than physically. Which is okay. Im starting to get used to people making ignorant/insensitive comments to me. So I’m slowly getting mentally stronger. Now I’m focusing more on myself and seeking things that make me happy. Wether it’s changing the people surrounding me, finding new hobbies or focusing more of my craft at work. I’m finally seeing the silver lining
